Embracing Life

Abigail Tannis Porter is mother to a beautiful, incredibly headstrong, cheeky and passionate boy called Jacob who just happens to have Down syndrome.

Living and working in Hong Kong Abi found access to relevant, up to date resources, information and medical support for children with Down syndrome challenging to find. And it was from there that A Little Bit Extra was born.

The objective of A Little Bit Extra is to support, connect and enhance the development of children, adolescents and adults with Down syndrome – a condition caused by an extra copy of chromosome 21 – and their families as they journey through life.

Events
📅 When:  Friday, June 20th, 2.00pm - 5.00pm

Get ready for a thrilling luxury bag swap where you can bring a pre-loved designer bag and exchange it for a "new" treasure.
No bag to swap? No problem! You can still dive into the fun by purchasing tokens.

Indulge in a delicious lunch paired with two refreshing cocktails. Tickets are $888 each or grab a table for 10 for $8880 and bring along your nearest and dearest!

All proceeds from this event will support ALBE in retaining a genetic counsellor to support families receiving a Down syndrome diagnosis.

These professionals play a crucial role in guiding families who have received a Down syndrome diagnosis. They offer personalised support by:
• Providing clear, understandable information about the diagnosis and its implications.
• Helping families explore their options and make informed decisions.
• Offering emotional support to alleviate stress, confusion, and fear.
• Connecting families with resources and support networks.
Your participation will help ensure that families receive the compassionate guidance they need during challenging times.

With help and support A Little Bit Extra is planning and hoping to change lives in Hong Kong and all across Asia. With Hong Kong as our base what we achieve in this magical city will positively affect lives across the region as the charity expands.

Awareness, access to resources and support is key and our core mission.
